JOB SUMMARY:

Quality Engineer is to ensure full compliance with Quality, Environmental and Machinery safety legislation. The position will be based in the Blackburn head office with some travelacross manufacturing & customer sites and sister company Proline Engineering Limited, required to fulfil this role. The Quality engineer will support Sales / Commercial functions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Non-Conformance / Corrective Actions

• Lead root cause investigation, working with relevant subject matter experts as needed, and monitor the progress on problem solving activities
• Investigate and monitor customer complaints
• Inform suppliers of non-conformance and take appropriate action

Management System / Auditing

• Support management system audits and production process audits, including planning, preparation, execution, reporting results, and remedial work plans
• Ensure compliance to internal and external management systems
• Support audit processes at suppliers
• Review and update management system documentation

Miscellaneous

• Implement and maintain relevant processes, work instructions
• Work with technical drawings and specifications
• Support calibration activities within the business
• Contribute to Quality Improvement Plans internally and with suppliers
• Use QA tools to assess and improve product quality and reduce costs
• Collaborate and communicate daily with peers and other departments at all levels, and be able to present your ideas clearly and negotiate in a balanced but effective manner
• Monitor quality KPIs
• Support pre delivery inspection activities
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
• Ensure health and safety standards are met
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Experience of working in industrial or manufacturing environments.
• IT skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft packages
• Good communications skills, both verbally and in writing
• Determined and proactive approach;
• Good analytical skills
• Great attention to detail and can interpret /read detailed drawings.
• Team player who is able to consistently deliver to agreed deadlines.
• Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001

Desirable:

• Knowledge and understanding of ISO 14001 and 45001
• Experience using SAP or similar ERP
• BTEC, HNC, HND, BSc or equivalent in an Engineering discipline
