We're seeking a Senior Accountant that can contribute to the accounting team. The right candidate will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial transactions to support monthly and quarterly financial statement preparation. This position will perform a variety of functions and is a key position within the accounting organization. The Senior Accountant will have direct interaction with site Controllers and CFO leadership.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for review and preparation of journal entries, including intercompany eliminations.
• Preparation of month-end general ledger account reconciliations, including identifying and analyzing reconciling differences and recommending solutions to address underlying process issues if applicable.
• Assist with analysis of inventory and job related activities, including inventory obsolescence reviews; sales, costs and margin analysis and job close activities.
• Completing month-end and quarter-end close activities in accordance with established timelines.
• Analyzing asset, liability, sales and expense accounts for appropriateness and explain variances.
• Assist in responding to internal and external audit requests, including providing sample support and other documents for Sarbanes Oxley testing and external audit.
• Ability to complete projects within the timeframes and deadlines established.
• Develop and implement process and system improvements to improve efficiency and leverage technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a Major in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred, but not required.
• 5 years of accounting experience
• Experience with ERP systems in an operational environment
• Excellent accounting and analytical skills, including knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with a Sarbanes Oxley control environment is preferred
• Communications and interpersonal skills; role requires collaborating with multiple stakeholders and maintaining relationships
• Results and detail oriented; completes work timely and accurately
• Ability to prioritize independently and make informed decisions with minimal supervisor intervention.
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables
• Thrives in a fast paced, changing environment
• Proficient communication skills including reading, writing and speaking in English
