The Finance Manager will provide finance and analytical support and business partnership to plant and business leadership, including business case preparation and decision support, and play a key role at CPI's manufacturing and production facilities. This position will be responsible for the preparation and evaluation of budgets, forecasts, weekly revenue and profit estimates and other financial operating reports and ad-hoc analysis and should have a strong desire and ability to gather, data mine and analyze information. This individual will create meaningful and concise presentations and recommendations for plant, business and executive management.

Responsibilities

  • Actively involved to support plant daily operations and long-range plans. Partner with plant leadership to optimize operations, improve production efficiency, increase capacity and exceed customers’ expectations.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and financial advice to plant and senior leadership.
  • Partner closely with procurement, supply chain and inventory management to ensure inventory levels are appropriate to support the business and balances are accurate and based on comprehensive counts and obsolescence analysis.
  • Provide business decision support through completion of pricing and profitability analysis of customers, product offerings, preparation of key management reports, metrics and business cases and offer recommendations based on the analysis.
  • Prepare annual plans and forecasts of financial results and key inventory items on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Collaborate with accounting to ensure critical operational accounts (inventory, WIP and fixed assets) are accurate, including assisting with reconciliations of these accounts.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of intercompany transactions amongst business units.
  • Serve as liaison and lead Finance activities for local management with greater CFO organization.
  • Identify revenue opportunities, efficiencies and expense savings using analytics, and monitor key performance indicators.
  • Responsible for compliance with company policies and procedures, including Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls requirements.
  • Expert on all data generated and contained within the financial, operational and other relevant systems.
  • Assist in preparation and presentation of accurate, clear and concise monthly and quarterly business reviews and other presentations for local and executive management.
  • Lead relevant special project initiatives, including cross-functional, as requested.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to optimize the customer experience for both internal and external customers.

Qualifications

  • 8 years of finance and operations experience; in manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required 
  • Financial planning and analysis experience
  • Ability to work in a high intensity, fast-paced environment.
  • Displays strong business acumen and ability to support business growth and operational efficiency.
  • Strong communicator with ability to succinctly articulate business and accounting issues to finance and non-finance audiences alike.
  • Track record in identifying and delivering process improvements that either enhance the control environment and/or drive efficiencies for the business.
  • Experience with a large and diverse customer base preferred.
  • Demonstrated history of leveraging core financial systems (ERP, HFM, BI, Excel, etc.) and other analytical tools to support meaningful analysis and recommendation.
  • Communications and interpersonal skills; role requires collaborating with multiple stakeholders and maintaining relationships.
  • History of successful and demonstrated process improvements.
  • Results and detail oriented; completes work timely and accurately.
  • Ability to prioritize independently and make informed decisions with minimal supervisor intervention.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables.
  • Thrives in a fast paced, changing environment.
