CP Unlimited is Hiring a Human Resources Business Partner Near New York, NY

United Cerebral Palsy Associations of New York State, Inc. d/b/a Constructive Partnerships Unlimited (CP Unlimited) is one of New York City's largest multi-service and most wide spread Community Living Organizations with programs dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Currently CP Unlimited is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our collaborative team in the Human Resources Department.
The HRBP at CP Unlimited will be an agent of change through ongoing collaboration and demonstration of commitment to HR objectives and will support the implementation of HR priorities for a designated portfolio in the areas of talent acquisition, talent development, change management, organization design and effectiveness, employee engagement, and performance management.

Some specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Creating partnerships across the organization to deliver value-added service that reflects the objectives 
  • Collaborating with and advising leadership on performance management concerns to build an inclusive, safe, and productive work environment 
  • Identifying talent and supporting leaders in developing and retaining their key talent 
  • Partnering with leaders to provide data reporting and analysis to support business objectives and consultative support to identify opportunities, interventions, and initiatives for improvement
  • Conducting prompt and thorough investigations into sensitive employee/labor relations issues, and making objective recommendations based on findings 
  • Maintaining in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance 
  • Serving as the subject matter expert on the leave of absence policies and programs and partnering with management in the execution and administration of leave policies and programs
  • Conducting weekly meetings with respective business units 
  • Participating in other projects as needed, including HRIS projects

To be successful in this role, candidates will have:

  • Strong and demonstrated business acumen to influence change management
  • Demonstrated ability to make practical, realistic and timely decisions after considering facts, available resources and potential risks, and employing reason and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive topics
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to advise and coach staff at all levels
  • Ability to work both independently while fostering a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to present ideas and information in a clear, concise, organized, and diplomatic/professional manner
  • A minimum of 3 years’ Human Resources experience, coupled with a bachelor's degree in Human Resources or similar field
  • HR Certification is a strong plus, but not required
  • Experience with Oracle HCM or other HRIS and proficiency with Microsoft Office is essential.
