Job Summary:

To perform mounter duties. Following all safety policies and procedures. Meeting all company policies, current and future growth of new policies. Completing all tasks to the best of your ability. Meeting or exceeding job requirements set by management or your supervisor.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

• Mounting printing plates to cylinders or sleeves
  • Review quality of each plate being mounted for imperfections or defects.
• Assuring plates are mounted in registration.
• Prepare first sample sheet for Supervisor review.
• Assist press department with plate repairs on the press.
• Tearing down jobs on cylinders/sleeves and setting up next job.
• Must meet any new task of job functions that may arise.
• Must follow set up procedures for given mounter/proofer.
• Meet all changing conditions in your environment.
• Must assure that material produced is of highest quality for customer needs and specs outlined on order or with individual job classification specs.
• Work in a team environment, giving more than you might think is expected from position.
• Must meet daily goals that are set within a very close margin of other operators and crews on same machine.
• Be self-motivated to complete task in timely manner.
• Complete tasks in adequate time limits to meet schedule needs and press times.
• Must comply with all general Company-wide standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and any job or department specific SOP’s.
  • SOP’s may cover the areas of (but are not limited to)
    • Employee Health and Safety
    • SQF (Safe Quality Food packager) and GMP (good manufacturing procedures) focused on eliminating contaminates in all packaging manufactured.
    • SGP (Sustainable Green Printer) environmental regulatory procedures and SOP’s.

Qualifications: (education, experience, specific skills, machinery/tools, etc.)

• High school diploma /GED or equivalent.
• Basic mechanical skills for operation of mounting machines, cylinder storage/removal system, hoist system, etc.
• Ability to identify quality issues in the plates and problem solve solutions
• Ability to follow instructions and sequencing of work orders.
• Basic computer skills
• Communicating in a clear professional manner with all levels of employees, suppliers, and customers.
• Able to read and understand tape measure; standard and metric.

Physical Demands: (lifting X lbs., working at heights or underground, standing for long periods, etc.)

• Able to lift to 80 lbs (occasional)
• Standing-for up to 12 hrs on concrete floors
• Bending and twisting, up to 70%
• Working 12 hr. shifts.
• Using step stools or 4,6,8,10 ft. stepladders.
• Working in very hot and humid conditions, for up to 12 hours. (during summer months)
• Switching shift to shift for vacation coverage or machine demands.

Working Conditions: (travel, working hours, any unusual environmental conditions, protective wear required, etc.)

• Follow all safety regulations and rules at all times, including all PPE. (hairnets/beard nets, steel-toe shoes, cut resistant gloves, safety glasses, etc.)
• May demand 12 hr days for vacation coverage. (This may vary at times depending on shift that needs coverage).
• Room temperature may be up to 115F and down to 40F
• May have excessive walking at times up to 85% of shift
• Work around solvent/ink/glue fumes/other solvents used in printing manufacturing.
• Work in tight places at random times. (infrequently)
