The purpose of the Process Improvement Engineer is to assist in the examination, design, and implementation of business and technical processes that result in improved cost, quality control and efficiency for Covenant; helps lead change initiatives within the organization; actively engages with business units to standardize and redesign processes; and aids in the overall execution of the Continuous Improvement strategy to deliver quantified results.
• Project work and data analysis to assist with process improvement, quality assurance, cost control • Complete time studies and work measurement studies as assigned • Work with internal and external customers to communicate problems and develop best practices for measurably improved performance• Engage and support the planned review of process improvements and organizational activities to foster a culture of sustainable Continuous Improvement • Maintain a strong portfolio of improvement projects; must maintain project deadlines, communication, and resource commitments • Routinely complete process reviews and document work flows through SOPs, work instruction, process maps or visual aids• Analyze flow of people, activities, systems, materials, work methods, policies/procedures, technological componenents to support improvement objectives • Routinely meet with business units and upper levels of management to problem solve, review project analysis, and report findings• Assist business units through measuring and monitoring of production activities, data analysis, trend identification, and establishment of projects that drive improvement; may or may not be technical in nature
Knowledge Skills, and Abilities• Demonstrates good organization and time-management skills• Ability to proficiently and quickly document technical business requirements for use by the development team• Ability to work with processes involving multiple systems, moderate to complex technical components, and integrations • Good understanding of financial performance metrics and tools• Ability to read, analyze, manipulate and interpret data sets and solve complex problems • Knowledgeable of Excel, O365, Lucid chart; be familiar with a Transport Management Systems or related application• Demonstrated control and execution of change management inititiatives• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies, Lean practices, improvement activities, value stream activities and skills that reflect the knowledge• Must have the ability to think quickly and make sound, confident decisions • Ability to work independently with a high degree of inititaitve, attention to detail, and follow through, and also perform effectively as part of a team• Must have the ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and successfully multitask • Must be able to respond positively to constructive critism• Strong and diverse change management skills, focused on a solution • Proficient with Lean Six SigmaEducation and Experience• Bachelor’s Degree or related experience in Business or related field• 2 years of continuous improvement/project management experience• 1 years of logistics/transportation industry experience • 2 years of technical experience or experience with technology related projects• Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred

Covenant’s compensation philosophy’s intent is to use a competitive total compensation strategy to determine the current market value of a position while also considering individual factors such as performance in current position, time in seat of current position, experience, level of responsibility/accountability, and longevity with the company. The system will be objective and non-discriminatory.Pay Range: $64,534.65-$101,269.75Pay Grade: 10
