You are a very detailed person who brings enthusiasm to handling guest questions and accounts receivable/payable functions. You are always eager to learn and take the initiative to propose more efficient ways of running the day-to-day operations of accounting. You have a high school education and ideally an associate degree or higher in accounting or related field. You've worked in hotel accounting previously. You have strong organizational skills and attention to detail. You live to compile facts and figures and keep meticulous records. You use computers, various software, and a calculator with ease. You can communicate effectively and courteously over the telephone and in person.

We are here for or guests and are happy to do whatever it takes to make their hotel stay or dining experience a memorable one.

WHAT YOU DO

You are the key person assisting the Regional Director of Finance and General Manager with the daily accounting functions. You provide Accounts Receivable support and process payments. You are responsible for handling guest inquiries, disputes, and chargebacks. You take pride in being responsible for the daily reconciliation of hotel transactions. You assist with payroll, accounts payable and any other tasks that may arise.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sort and verify accuracy of Night Audit work.
  • Perform income audit / balance income journal and bank reconciliation.
  • Ensure the income audit, billing/collections, accounts payable, and daily cash deposits are completed.
  • Compare and control vendor invoices and credit notes with all related documents.
  • Set up new accounts in accordance with established credit policy.
  • Route invoices to department heads for approval. Ensure account coding is accurate and all invoices are being returned on a timely basis.
  • Prepare invoices for payment and present them to the General Manager for signature.
  • File paid and unpaid invoices in a timely and orderly manner such that others can readily access the information.
  • Assist with monthly hotel end of month and end of year reporting.
  • Pull daily drop envelopes, verify cash/report contents and balance for the daily deposit.
  • Audit cashier banks as required by hotel standards. Maintain all documentation.
  • Assist in hotel and food and beverage inventories.
  • Assist with other accounting duties, projects or requests by the General Manager or Complex Director of Finance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous accounting/finance experience is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Previous experience with Fosse (Preferred).
  • Previous experience with M3 (Preferred).
  • Previous experience with Micros (Preferred).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
  • Lift carry, push, and/or pull up to 25 lbs.
