Oversee outside and inside sales to ensure revenue and room night sales goals are achieved, closure of contracts, and maintain and exceed sales goals as determined by the General Manager. Generate new business for the hotel as well as effectively manage existing client accounts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Create and implement marketing, support, community management, internal systems, product management, and account management to facilitate new clientele, while maintaining current clientele
Monitor performance and sales activities to ensure actual sales meet or exceed the established revenue plan/budget.
Manage sales team to contact potential/current clients through, but not limited to, phone calls, email, mailings, fax, community involvement, trade shows and seminars.
Development and solicitation of sales strategies thru the annual marketing plan.
Operate within a team concept, willing to cover for others when needed while meeting individual performance goals.
Administer working knowledge of cost factors (room rates, food and beverage, and conference facilities).
Negotiate space, dates, and rates to obtain booking goals while keeping the focus on shoulder and off-season business.
Provide and enforce professional and courteous guest service.
Must have the ability to multi-task, have strong attention to detail, delegate tasks, and set goals.
Perform outside sales calls as scheduled by the Director of Sales.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
May serve as “manager on duty” as required.
Education Requirements:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge skills, and abilities. Prior hotel sales experience preferred.
