About us

Lighthouse Veterinary Care for Cats is a Feline Exclusive Veterinary Practice located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. We are supportive, customer-centered, collaborative, and our goal is to provide exceptional care to our feline patients while going above and beyond to address the needs of our clients in a calm, relaxed, family atmosphere. We have an open position available for one very exceptional Veterinary Receptionist. Our work environment includes:

If you would like to work in a calm, peaceful, family oriented atmosphere where exceptional care of cats comes first and people are considered a priority, feel free to respond. At least 2 years of experience within the veterinary field is required, however consideration will be given for an otherwise highly qualified applicant from a related field.

Veterinary Receptionist duties may include but are not limited to:

- Checking clients in and out - includes handling client financial transactions
- Interacting with clients, vendors, & others on the phone and in person
- Obtaining medical record information from clients and other clinics
- Maintaining records, by keeping filed in an orderly fashion
- Preparing reports to add to patient charts
- Contacting clients for patient refills for meds, etc.

Interested Applicants should have the following Qualifications:

- Must love Cats and People too!
- Enjoy working with and talking to the public

- Have a warm, friendly, professional demeanor and operate with integrity

- Compassionate and understanding towards both the pets and the people attached to them

- Team player and eager to assist others

- Have the ability to multi-task and remain calm in a sometimes fast paced environment
- Able to communicate effectively to others both in person and over the phone
- Have Excellent Writing Skills
- Demonstrate strong Computer skills and comfortable with technology
- Able to comfortably navigate through computer programs such as Excel & Microsoft Word
- Understand Veterinary medical terminology
- Able to Handle cats safely if needed to assist with patient care
- Reliable, punctual, innovative, and dedicated to veterinary medicine and to your new team

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 38 per week
