Job Overview:

As our Staff Software Engineer for Coupang Media Group, Ads Growth team, you will be responsible for designing, developing large scale data pipeline, optimization algorithms and new product features for our advertisers facing self-service platform.

The Ads Growth team is a newly formed team (less than 2 years) with highly talented scientists and ML/Software engineers. Our mission is to help advertisers get the most potentials out of their advertising experience. As the power house of high speed business growth, Ads Growth team has a lot of high visibility projects in our road maps.

This is an opportunity to be part of building up a new development organization with strong revenue potential inside a successful company. We're building a hybrid team with top-notch Data/Machine Learning Scientists and Software Engineers to maximize Advertisers' potential. We are in the growth phase of the organization, so you'll be a part of managing the transition from growth phase to enterprise processes.

What You Will do:

• Design product features and build large-scale data processing pipeline and service API to optimize campaign setup.
• Design features and build large-scale machine learning models and systems to improve advertisers experiences.
• Develop new techniques for providing multiple suggestions(such as bid/budget/roas, etc) for Coupang Advertisers to identify opportunities and improve their return on investments.
• Effectively lead projects across teams and mentor the junior developers
• Work with product and sales teams to design and implement new product features

Basic Qualifications:

• 8 years of industry software engineering experience in software development(Java, Python, SQL), big data processing
• Deep knowledge in big data gathering, processing and optimization
• Excellent communicator, both to technical and business audiences
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Self-starter and innovator who likes to solve complex problems
• Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results
• Ability to deal with ambiguity in business and technology
• Ability to work in multicultural, cross functional team
• Bachelors' degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with different roles and teams(Front-end/Back-end Engineers and Product Owner)
• Experience with advertising systems/Search advertising
• Experience working with Java/Spark/Hive/Presto (big data processing)
• Experience working with AWS (Amazon web services)
