County of San Bernardino is Hiring a Psychiatric Technician I (InnROADs) Near Throughout San Bernardino County, CA

Earn up to $56,659.20 Annually 
The Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) is recruiting for Psychiatric Technicians who provide direct patient care with the Innovative Remote Onsite Assistance Delivery program (InnROADs). InnROADs team members provide Rapid Response and Street-Medicine services to the County’s homeless residents. This includes outreach and engagement, treatment and linkages to support services. Employees assigned to the InnROADs program must be willing to work outdoorsand have a desire to work with our unhousedresidents as a partner with multiple service agencies.
The resulting eligible will only be used to fill vacancies in the InnROADs Program.
Psychiatric Technicians perform basic nursing and psychiatric services for consumers experiencing homelessness and a mental illness and/or substance use disorder. They will work in tandem with the Nurse Practitioner and Regional Engagement Teams to provide psychiatric nursing care across the County. The Psychiatric Technician will administer medications, provide counseling and assist in providing medical care. Incumbents will be required to drive around the County in a vehicle provided by the County. This position supports all regions.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
 
1) Background Investigation: Applicants selected for these positions must pass an extensive background investigation, as well as verification of employment history. Employment may be denied to applicants who have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony in the following areas: crimes of violence, domestic violence and drug related offenses. 2) Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required for some positions. Employees will be required to make provision for transportation. At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation. 3) Appointment: Extra help positions are in the Unclassified Service and serve at the discretion of the appointing authority. The positions participate in the County's Part-time Seasonal Temporary (PST) Deferred Compensation Plan and do not earn any other benefits. Candidates selected for Extra help positions are not precluded from being considered for full-time positions and may remain on the list for full-time employment. 4) Certifications: Must possess and maintain Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification. MAB training will be provided. 5) Working Conditions: The work environment may involve exposure to assaultive and combative patients, hazardous and infectious materials and communicable diseases. 6) Physical Requirements: Frequent sitting, occasional walking, standing, bending, and reaching above and below shoulder level and carrying up to 10 pounds.
License: Must possess and maintain a Psychiatric Technician's license with the state of California. 
Certification: Must possess and maintain Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support certification.
Applicants fluent in American Sign Language, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish and/or Vietnamese are strongly encouraged to apply. Additional compensation is associated with positions requiring the use of bilingual skills. Testing of bilingual skills may be required to receive additional compensation.
Candidates with experience as a Psychiatric Technician in an acute mental health setting and current Management of Assaultive Behavior certification are desired.
