Country Manor’s Health Care & Rehab Center is looking to add a talented, committed Cook to their Culinary team!

Named the BEST SENIOR LIVING FACILITY IN CENTRAL MN 7 YEARS IN A ROW, Country Manor is hoping to add a Cook to their team that has a sincere passion for culinary arts, as well as enriching the lives of the individuals and families we serve. Country Manor’s “Hometown Culture” is an important part of the work we do. Every team member plays an integral role in ensuring we are offering superior health care and services to all our residents and patients.

This mission of Country Manor Culinary Services is to provide customers with nutritionally based meals, offered “restaurant-style,” with menu creativity and excitement, and a twist of “fine-dining” experiences. Food is an important part of overall well-being, and is an extremely significant part of everyday at Country Manor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares or directs preparation of all foods indicated on menu
  • Prepares foods creatively without jeopardizing the nutrient value, but enhancing presentation
  • Assists in directing/training other Culinary employees in food production methods
  • Working alongside the Culinary Management Team with production questions
  • Follows daily production schedule, having food ready at appropriate times for each unit, and checking/recording temperatures
  • Ensures all meal preparation is according to sanitary and safety regulations
  • Practices daily tasting methods of food before serving
  • Serves food to modified diets according to written menu
  • Follows correct storage, re-heating and inventory procedures of products
  • Tests new recipes and reports results to Dietary Director for developing recipes
  • Makes proper menu substitutions
  • Cleans and sanitizes assigned work areas and equipment
  • May work special event meals and assist with planning and organization of production or setting up
  • Responsible for documentation of food items utilized
  • Determining uses for leftovers
  • Inspecting items and determining those suitable for the menu
  • Weighing and portioning foods according to menu standards
  • Other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Comprehensive knowledge of food production, weights/measures and recipe calculations
  2. Ability to follow standardized recipes and adjust so quality food products are prepared
  3. General knowledge of department policies and procedures, including sanitation, safety and cleaning schedules
  4. Knowledge of federal and state regulation compliance
  5. Knowledge of resident right issues
  6. Must be able to have ready at the specified meal serving times and delivered on time, utilizing time management and organizational skills
  7. Adaptability and flexibility to work a variety of assigned job duties depending on situational needs
  8. Function as a team member, often requiring leadership and problem-solving/decision-making abilities
  9. Proper methods and cooking temperatures for best utilization and yield of meats and other foods to promote quality
  10. Proper operation and cleaning/sanitizing of equipment and work area
  11. Accurate and neat work with attention to detail

This is a part-time position; including every other weekend, every other holiday.
