Cortica is Hiring a Communications Manager Near San Diego, CA

Cortica is looking for a Communications Manager to join its growing team! You will develop and manage the dissemination of internal information for a national, distributed workforce, assist in the achievement of strategic objectives and help to promote employee engagement across the business.

In this role, you will create a communication plan and strategy that will keep employees engaged, recognized, and well-informed, uniting various team leaders, departments, and executives with consistent messaging. In addition, you will assist in employer branding efforts, using multiple communications channels to drive awareness of Cortica's mission and organizational initiatives to job seekers

What will you do? 

  • Drafts, reviews, and oversees distribution of internal messages to ensure that they are clear, consistent, on-brand, and tailored to the target audience. This may include employee newsletters, handbooks and policies, presentations, and company-wide emails and announcements
  • Offers thoughtful counsel to leadership on how messages should be communicated to teammates
  • Creates communications plans for large changes and announcements
  • Leads organizational change efforts by refining and enforcing communications support framework for leaders to ensure consistent and positive experience for employees
  • Measures the success of specific communications and tailors future communications to improve effectiveness or increase reach
  • Manages current communications-related tools and infrastructures, recommends improvements to current tools, and evaluates need for future tools. Current tools include corporate communications guidelines, internal collateral, company calendar, and document management tool
  • Works to improve interdepartmental and inter-location communications by increasing efficiency of comms infrastructure throughout the company
  • Finds and applies for employer awards and recognitions that align with our values and recruiting needs. Manages internal and external announcements of any wins
  • Partners with Marketing and Talent Acquisition on search engine optimization to increase brand awareness and pipeline of qualified candidates
  • Supports the Cortica blog by seeking out internal teammates to write guest blog posts on relevant topics and helping to write content 
  • Supports employer branding efforts on social media by keeping our LinkedIn, indeed, and Glassdoor employer profiles up to date with content, photos, and company updates. 
  • Drafts and optimizes candidate-facing Job Postings and other Talent Acquisition communications to attract top talent and exemplify the Cortica culture, gender neutrality and inclusivity.

We’d love to hear from you if you have: 

  • 5 years' experience in corporate or internal communications.
  • 3 years’ experience in employer branding.
  • 3 years’ experience collaborating with executive and leadership teams.
