JOB SUMMARY

As a member of the Global Technology Business Support (GTBS) team, this person’s primary role will be to provide support to the FBP GT team on the day-to-day Finance and Accounting operation. He/she may also provide project accounting support in assigned areas and/or for assigned projects. He/she is responsible for own work and contributing to team, department and/or business results. The primary focus of this position is to facilitate financial and accounting processes, with a focus on the following:

  • Prepare & Process MI accounting forms, templates & proactively resolve follow up items with FBPs, GT and MIGA representatives.
  • Manage & maintain data repository that drives all aspect of reporting (department metadata, MarrStar etc.)
  • Manage lifecycle of ledger Chartfield strings (Shelf/Closing dept)
  • Prepare monthly accruals, general ledger processing & reporting
  • Prepare & process manual billings to properties & above property disciplines
  • Prepare headcount & labor recovery analysis, review & follow ups
  • Provide support of actuals processing, monthly forecast, and annual budget processes
  • Provide ad hoc analyses to support Director of GTBS and overall FBP-GT group
  • Perform audit functions as directed and creating/documenting controls and governance
  • Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationship with Technology, FBP GT and other key stakeholders.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTION

  • Administer multiple processes to support the FBP GT functions including MIT forms, MarrStar, Journal entry processing, billing, and running queries for adhoc analysis.
  • Manage & maintain GT FBP metadata file (data repository) that drives all reporting. Includes staging data from multiple systems, adding data points as business needs change, reconciling data, reviewing for completion & following up on pending items.
  • Partner with multiple stakeholders (FBPs, GT, MIGA, other Enterprise teams) to gather, analyze and record changes needed to manage lifecycle of departments Open/Close/Shelf departments monthly & annually
  • Manage headcount reconciliation & labor recovery analysis in Apptio (ITP & CT)
  • Participate in FBP GT weekly meetings with MIGA and coordinate issue conversations between FBP GT team and MI General Accounting teams.
  • Investigate and resolve open Purchase orders and any PO discrepancies
  • Assist in administering capital expenditure tracking and Authorized Expenditure tracking
  • Various other ad hoc issue research – track down missing invoices, research status of payments, stop payment forms as needed, vendor setup forms as needed
  • Manage the retention and updating of process flow documentation
  • Support a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets, improve operations, profitability and mitigate risk
  • Conduct internal control audits and promote overall compliance
  • Provide support as needed for Director, including establishing/documenting governance over processes and tools
  • Promote clear channels of communication with appropriate stakeholders regarding FBP-GT / GTBS processes and logistics
  • While the primary focus is the contributions noted above, other duties may include the following:
    • Perform the following types of basic tasks: tracker updates, AP processing, accruals, capital expenditure processing, amortization schedules, critiques, Marrstar record updates and P&L reviews.
    • Complete accurate and timely financial information in appropriate systems (Tracker, Peoplesoft, On Demand, Marrstar, EPM, Apptio, Aestiva, etc.)
    • Conduct and/or review general accounting tasks such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, analysis, auditing, budgeting, forecasting, account reconciliation, research, internal control reviews and report generation.
    • Support annual forecasting/budget process for units under his/her responsibility which includes preparation of detail forecast/budgets, and allocations.
    • Ensure P&L are accurate; costs are recorded properly, and statements distributed to the appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner.
    • Partner with FBP GT leaders and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with Revenue Recognition in accordance with GAAP.
    • Ensure all assets are recorded and depreciated in the appropriate units and in accordance with corporate policy.
    • Maintain confidentiality of data and sensitive information

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • BS/BA degree required in accounting, finance, or related field preferred; 2 years of relevant accounting/finance experience
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles, procedures, and techniques of accounting, and of financial records and transactions including, but not limited to, generally accepted accounting principles
  • Strong communications (verbal and written), organization and presentation skills
  • Strong knowledge of Excel required
  • Knowledge of operating procedures, controls, and governances
  • Ability to leverage resources in the accomplishment of objectives
  • Exceptional organizational skills. Effective in prioritizing work and following through on commitments. Project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work with and communicate effectively with all levels of management
