DESCRIPTION

Plan, coordinate, and manage all Quality Control (QC) and mold operations and all QC and Fab Shop personnel effectively and within budget in the casting facility or at the project jobsite. Ensures product quality in conformance with project requirements as well as company-driven quality standards. Oversees the QC, Molds and Fab Shop departments for safety, schedule attainment, efficiency, quality, cleanliness and preventative maintenance.

Quality Assurance Management

• Provide leadership in consistently achieving quality standards throughout the Division.
• Establish, update and communicate quality expectations with construction personnel and Industry Partners.
• Establish and manage Quality Performance Review Procedures.
• Facilitate and implement quality training to construction personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience required
• Must be very familiar and skilled in construction and/or manufacturing processes
• Level 1 for ACI and PCI required
• Obtain PCI Level II within 6 months of placement
• Microsoft Suite of Software, Microsoft Project, Adobe or Bluebeam, Timberline or similar accounting software; AutoCAD and Onscreen Takeoff considered a plus
• Thorough knowledge of construction drawings and specifications
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
• Valid Driver’s License

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for overall delivery of QC Scope of Work

• The QC Manager understands the project specifications and Cornerstone’s scope of work and has review the erection drawings, product and piece drawings and contract documents in detail.

Complete understanding of all project drawings, product data, & specifications.

• Along with the Superintendent, coordinate and QC issues with the General Contractor.

Manage Schedule and Mold Changes:

• Looks forward with production team for at least two weeks for production schedule and mold changes.
• Provides feedback to the Project Superintendent on the best and most economical way to schedule production.
• On a daily basis, reviews in detail, with QC and Mold staff, all changes needed for producing the next day’s production (note all red mark drawings and changes).

Monitors Materials and Supplies

• Develops and monitors usage (min-max levels and buffer setup at beginning of project) of QC & Fab Shop departmental consumables supplies and tools and plans purchases accordingly within project budget allocations so there is no need to run out for emergency items..
• Ensure all QC equipment (break machine, scales etc.) are maintained and certified per Cornerstone’s and PCI standards.

Testing, Inspections, Coordination and Production Casting Approval

• All plastic concrete is tested & accepted prior to casting.
• Coordinate concrete issues with the batch plant & bring to resolution.
• Submit weekly concrete usage report to Project Manager (PM), and OPS Director.
• Enforce your authority when warranted. QC has 100% authority and responsibility to stop a pour due to a non-conformance issue as defined in "QC Issues that Affect a Pour".
• Prior to the pour make sure all inspections are complete and to specifications. (Raw Material, Cage, Form Geometry, Pre-pour)
• On a daily basis review all QC Reports. Take immediate action when changes are needed to improve quality and prevent the likelihood of damages, etc.
• All pre pours meet the approved drawings prior to giving the OK to pour the module.
• Complete all post pour & raw casting reports with immediate feedback to Production.
• Complete all inspections (final & erection).
• Coordinate repair procedures with Project Engineer & Project Staff.
• Monitor heat being used to cure the module for the next cycle; make recommendations to the Superintendent.
• Confirm all finish pad inspections are complete & approved prior to the next process starting.
• Check first casting off a new mold or a modified mold with Project Superintendent and or Production Supervisor and QC tech and until all dimensions are within Cornerstone’s tolerance.
• Inspect the work of Patch and Repair daily to ensure they are passing on a “Defect Free” product to their internal customer.
• Inspect each and every module leaving Finish Area for quality and contract work completion.
