Cornerstone Detention Products is Hiring an Operations Manager Near King of Prussia, PA

DESCRIPTION

The Operations Manager is responsible for managing all project related construction activities, including hiring and supervision of operations personnel, management of direct and indirect labor and construction costs, management of vendor and sub relationships, risk management and safety compliance. In addition, this position is responsible for customer service delivery during construction and post-closing customer warranty and maintenance. Finally, the Operations Manager is responsible for coordination of all Design Build Team Activities.

Leadership

  • Participates as a member of Division Senior Management.
  • Reports regularly to the Executive Vice President on the status of all Construction Department metrics.
  • Reviews controllable spending with the Executive Vice President regularly.
  • Participates in the annual business plan process and in the quarterly forecasting process.
  • Participates in policy, procedure, and process discussions.
  • Works closely with Purchasing, and other team members to help with design and value engineering.
  • Evaluates building processes and services on a continual basis to define opportunities and requirements.
  • Provides leadership and direction for the entire Operations team.

Management

  • Identify staffing, recruit new hires as necessary, and adjust staff levels based on construction activity.
  • Assist, coach and mentor operations staff in the successful completion of all duties defined in their position descriptions, holding them responsible for compliance to all policies, procedures, processes, and standards.
  • Develop and management Superintendents, Project Managers, and Estimating.
  • Establish, maintain, and manage construction schedules.
  • Site review and construction review to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Develop and manage guidelines and goals for delivery of projects within the Division, including
  • overall responsibility for:
  • quality standards,
  • productivity,
  • job site safety and cleanliness,
  • customer satisfaction,
  • Leads Department and Team meetings.
  • Walk projects to ensure quality, cleanliness, safety and consistency.
  • Communicate with owners to maintain positive relationships and implement CIP process.

Knowledge/Experience

  • 10 years construction experience.
  • Hands-on building trade experience.
  • 5 years construction supervision experience.
  • Experience in management and administration of construction contracts.
  • Experience in the purchasing process.
  • Experience in managing multiple departments.
  • Cost estimating and budgeting experience.
  • Warranty service experience.
  • BA/BS degree program preferred.

Essential Functions

  • Attends and participates in meetings with managers and other administrative personnel to address issues as they relate to this department, including planning and coordination with other departments and within department areas.
  • Evaluates department; prepares status and special reports for review by the Executive Vice President; discusses and modifies as needed.
  • Assists in strategic planning; directs department budget development; evaluates and verifies budget for compliance with departmental goals and objectives.
  • Maintains contact with outside strategic vendors for purpose of obtaining best pricing and support.
  • Reviews established general operating routines for day-to-day management of department. Assigns
  • responsibilities and organizes work based on need, priority, and ability of staff. Revises workflow and solves problems as needed. Reviews annual calendar for generation of internal and external reports. Coordinates with other departments. Convenes work groups for special problems, training and other activities as needed.
  • Oversees and participates in development of department budgets and budget justification for

presentation to the Executive Vice President. Monitors for adequate staffing. Directs development of special or one-off budgets.

  • Establishes standards of quality and guidelines for department in an effort to standardize them.
  • Continually reviews development of, and improvement within, department as performed by staff and others.
  • Determines staff training needs. Arranges or establishes programs and participates in those programs as necessary. Provides guidance through group and individual meetings with staff. Consults with other departments, where applicable, on professional development issues.
  • Provides counseling to staff on professional development matters and individual problems. Monitors, and assists as necessary, in the development of problem resolution methods for use within department.
  • Continually reviews work of staff. Provides formal and informal feedback in written and oral form

regarding strengths and weaknesses, as well as ways to improve weak areas.

  • Interviews, evaluates, and recommends individuals for hire within our division. Participates in the establishment of methods for employee development and/or career advancement.
