Cornerstone Building Brands is Hiring a Sales Estimator Near Phoenix, AZ
The Sales Estimator is responsible for reading blueprints, interpreting builder scopes of work and specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Create project files as needed
- Download plans, specifications, scopes of work and other contract documents into the appropriate files
- Read blueprints provided by customers for tract homes; custom homes; and multifamily buildings
- Review job specifications, scopes of work and blueprints as needed to create take-offs via Excel
- Communicate to both internal and external customers as needed to acquire necessary information
- Work with purchasing, operations, inside sales and accounting to ensure job estimates contain proper costs and verbiage
- Data entry with minimal errors
- Maintains a positive and team focused relationship with co-workers
- Maintains a clean, efficient workspace
EDUCATION
High School diploma or equivalent
WORK EXPERIENCE
1-3 years estimating experience preferred or work experience that demonstrates an ability to successfully complete the job requirements.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Computer literate with strong data entry skills, must be proficient in Excel and other Microsoft office applications
- Ability to read and interpret builder floor plans and key notes
- Strong math skills, ability to effectively use triangular scale ruler
- Estimating and job costing knowledge
- Ability to identify value engineering opportunities
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
- Must be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to consistently meet project deadlines
- Detail oriented with high level of accuracy and ability to follow through is required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with outside departments, co-workers, and customers
- Previous experience in new home construction is a plus
- Ability to successfully cross train on additional tasks as needed
