Description
SUMMARY
Under supervision of the Head Teller, and in compliance with established policies and procedures, performs a variety of teller related functions, such as processing share account, checking account, and loan transactions, cashing checks, and selling money orders and travelers checks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Represents the Credit Union to the members in a courteous and professional manner.
2. Provides prompt, efficient, and accurate service in the processing of transactions.
3. Performs all teller functions, such as processing deposits, withdrawals, payments, transfers, selling money orders and travelers checks, maintaining cash drawer, and accurate knowledge of VISA payments, and VISA cash advances.
4. Assists with clerical duties such as filing, typing, and record keeping.
5. Actively cross-sells Credit Union services and assists in meeting branch goals
6. May perform member service and lending functions, if qualified.
7. Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2 or more years teller or related experience. Intermediate computer or other knowledge including the ability to operate Credit Union's in-house teller terminal and other standard office equipment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Duties are generally prioritized, allowing incumbent to perform independently, with intermittent close supervision, in conformance with written instructions, established schedules, and pre-determined priorities. Problems not clearly defined by written directives or instructions are reviewed with supervisor to determine course of action.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
Functions performed required the ability to communicate involved information with other employees or general public under conditions where basic understanding or sensitivity may be required to effectively promote and maintain relationships.
