POSITION SUMMARY:
The Programming Manager is responsible for managing, organizing and ensuring the efficiency and impact of the collective impact model, ensuring seamless team management and program delivery, and the quality care and support of the Scholars. The Programming Manager is responsible for assisting Program Director in the mentorship and development of the programming staff and that a culture of care and commitment is fostered.
Leadership:
- Oversee the day-to-day aspects of the CORE Program Model and Parent Academy.
- Activates programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization.
- Ensures continuity across areas of oversight
Team Management and Development:
- Promotes a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
- Evaluate the skill, experience, and professional development needs of all staff and ensure appropriate staffing.
- Instill a sense of accountability among team members by modeling tight oversight of individual and organizational performance standards.
- Works with the Program Director to attract, develop, coach, and retain high-performance team members, empowering them to elevate their level of responsibility, span of control, and performance.
- Lead the Scholar intervention team to ensure all Scholars’ needs are met with excellence and timeliness. Provide relevant training for Scholar intervention team and programming staff to support Scholars and parents.
- Schedules, forecasts, coaches, counsels, and disciplines team members; communicates job expectations; plans, monitors, and reviews job contributions; enforces policies and procedures.
- Reviews all staff data entry and ensures all program documentation is completed accurately and timely
- Plans for team member assessments under the direction of the Program Director; prepares and presents team member reviews.
- Rallies team members to generate morale while managing team member performance.
Model Management and Development:
- Ensure ongoing programming excellence.
- Collaborates with Curriculum Manager to support curriculum implementation.
- Ensure consistent, objective program performance standards and accountability are being met.
- Produces accurate and timely reporting of program status.
- Assesses key demographic criteria of our scholars and determines their needs from both a practical and an emotional perspective.
- Assesses scholar engagement and ensures the team is proactive in all scholar interactions.
- Ensures programs are being measured and data is communicated to assist the Program Director in evaluating the effectiveness of current programming and its impact.
- Evaluate all programs of the model yearly to ensure the realization of the mission statement.
- Utilize the current systems, processes, and tools to better support the facilitation, collection, and sharing of knowledge that is generated by the programs to continue to empower the Scholars to lead a choice-filled life.
- Communicate with the Program Director about any gaps in services so that community partners and vendors can be identified and vetted.
- Communicates budget restrictions and usage to staff based on direction from the Program Director
- Analyzes program risks and mitigates those risks; relays the information to the Program Director to develop and modify the program as needed.
Requirements:
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, or other closely related field; advanced degree in Education or Social Work preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of related professional or programming experience, with 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with children ages 11-18 years old.
- Prior non-profit experience ideal; management of multifaceted or collective impact organization preferred.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently as well as to function effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to work effectively with children, families, professionals and other personnel from a wide range of cultural, social and economic backgrounds.
- Ability to monitor, analyze, consult, and report on programs and services.
- Advanced organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent command of English language and grammar, both verbal and written.
- Proficient with computer applications—a thorough understanding of Apple Products and the ability to learn and master other computer technology/software programs as needed. Good command of Internet usage.
- Understands the value of case management systems and experience with utilizing those systems while encouraging and coaching staff to complete case notes.
- Proven experience running programs for children from ages 12-18
- Excellent follow-through and persistence when corresponding with families, teachers, and staff.

Desired Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of current trends and issues in education with a particular focus on issues in K-12 education.
- Knowledge of—and experience implementing—research-based curriculum.
- Ability to design training programs and provide training to various-sized groups.
- Fluent Spanish skills preferred.
Travel and Varied-Scheduling Requirements:
- Ability to travel independently and alone (to locations that may not be handicap accessible and may include climbing stairs) and manage travel arrangements. Must be available to travel throughout the U.S. as necessary with some overnight stays required.
- Schedule will typically be Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with the ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary to assist with program events.

Must be able to manually operate and use a phone, computer, and other office equipment and have the ability to clearly hear and understand telephone conversations.
The Team Member is regularly required to sit or stand, for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on a school campus, the noise level can increase to loud.
