Job Overview:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for internal and external financial reporting within the Core organization. This person will play a key role in monitoring accounts, reconciling financial statements, conducting audits to ensure data accuracy and creating shareholder reports.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Daily accounting and reporting of a public manufacturing company
• Plan, organize, and coordinate month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare of balance sheet and bank reconciliations on a monthly basis
• Perform monthly review and analysis of internal P&L's
• Provide GL support and analysis to plant cost accountants
• Work with external public accounting firm for income tax filings. Prepare requests for quarterly estimates and annual tax filings
• Ensure company compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and assist with interpretation and implementation of new accounting standards
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures and recommend accounting process improvements
• Provide accounting guidance to personnel in operations (plant management, engineers etc.)
• Assist in design and testing of new reports and changes to existing reports
• Ensure compliance with all SEC and FASB rules and regulations.
• Analyze new and existing GAAP and SEC regulations and apply to Company specific circumstances
• Prepare and review ad hoc analyses and reports for internal and external reporting requirements
• Act as primary point of contact for internal and external auditors
• Assist in the preparation of Corporate Departmental annual budgets

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• 3 years of experience
• Prior supervisory experience
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple activity streams
• Must have strong work commitment and drive to get the job done accurately and timely
• Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels throughout the organization
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Excel
• Strong analytical skills

Preferred Skills

• CPA or CPA Track
• Public accounting and experience with SEC clients preferred
• VBA Coding and Macro experience
