We are looking for a Mechanical Assembler II to join our team.

Qualifications


General Position Summary

The Mechanical Assembler II uses a variety of tools and equipment to assemble units according to required specifications. This involves reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches and written instructions to assemble the parts or products. To ensure quality, an assembler also looks for faulty components during the assembly process and may be required to test assembled parts or products to ensure functionality.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • Performs a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies. Assemble various sub and final assemblies according to specification, using various hand tools.
  • Assemble sub and final assembles at a pace that ensures a quality sub or final assembly, according to the production schedule.
  • Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring and component installation.
  • Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.
  • Ensure safe, careful use, treatment and maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Inspect his/her and others work for defects using the final assembly inspection sheets.
  • Reports any piece part, sub and or final assemblies' deficiencies to the Assembly Lead.
  • Reports problems where the ability to recognize deviation from standard practices and processes.
  • Be able to work with components with moderately close tolerances, and to differentiate one part from another.
  • Participate in product or process improvement.
  • Comply with all company and industry process safety procedures and practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Specific Job Requirements

  • Responsible for his/her own quality of workmanship. (Must meet company standards)
  • Self-motivated reliable team player. Must be dependable, on time.
  • Be able to work multiple stations.
  • Be able to maintain an acceptable work pace throughout the day.
  • Maintain a safe, neat and well-organized workstation.
  • Perform other task as deemed necessary by supervision.
  • Be able to work multiple stations.

  • Good hand and finger dexterity.
  • Must have the ability to use hand tools such as air drivers, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.
  • Reports problems where the ability to recognize deviation from standard practices and processes.
  • English speaking preferred (speak and writing/reading)
  • Must have basic understanding of electronic or mechanical assembly
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to learn new skills and behaviors.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work mandatory overtime.
  • Safety is everyones responsibility. Staff are expected to act in a safe manner at all times and ensure that those around them do not put themselves or others at risk.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • 2 years of related work experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma preferred.Local candidates preferred.
