Core Consulting is Hiring a Mechanical Assembler/Solderer - (20023) Near Medford, NY

SUMMARY

Work from instructions, drawings, schematics, illustrations and process documentation to assemble a wide variety of electrical subassemblies and systems.
Fabricate, assemble, set up, inspect and reworks electronic and electrical hardware and equipment.
Perform routine, complex, and repetitive assembly operations and processes to produce quality and accurate products in a timely manner.
Hold J-STD-001 and/or IPC620 certificate (preferred, but not required)

REQUIREMENTS

Experience with hand tools (i.e. Working with cars, building furniture, assembling products, i.e. anything that use a screwdriver/hammer/wrench for)
Experience can be any type of mechanics and/or those who have worked in warehouse/manufacturing and wanted to move toward assembly (still must have experience with hand tools)
Will have one on one training for job
Person must be able to follow verbal and written instructions

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Utilize small hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and hammers.
Identify and select components to be integrated into sub-assembly and assembly units.
Make set-ups, alignments and adjustments maintaining tolerance in accordance with instructions. Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, and tests units as required.
May provide work leadership to lower level assemblers through assignment or work review of progress and monitoring of results.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate must be highly skilled with basic hand tools (mil spec crimpers, toque drivers and other calibrated hand tools included)
Experience with assembly of surface mount and thru-hole components on circuit boards, per JSTD 001/IPC 610 preferred
Experience with chassis wire routing, lacing/tying/harnessing per WHMA-620 preferred.
Must have experience with mechanical assembly and integration of sensitive electronic assemblies within a mechanical enclosure
Familiar with ESD precautions in electronics manufacturing

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination
