Core Consulting is Hiring an Estimator/Fabrication (18420) Near Germantown, WI
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with customers and company representatives prepare cost estimates and quotations for the manufacture of customer parts and at times – following up on leads to secure customer orders.
Develop relationships with the customer to develop a detailed understanding of customer specifications and lead-time requirements.
Keen understanding of fabrication processes and process capabilities to manufacture metal fabricated, machined and welded parts.
Skilled in reading and interpreting part drawings/specifications provided by the customer in the form of CAD and PDf file formats.
Ability to create relationships with suppliers and vendors – to gather secondary quotations and secure competitive costing for items such as; outside processing, fasteners, coatings/finishing and machined components.
Able to determine/identify items that are outside of current internal capabilities – that may need to be outsourced or excluded from the quotation scope.
Work with engineering/project management to ensure the accurate transfer of information and scope of quotation. Organizing day-to-day notes used in developing quotations to include revisions, additions and omissions by the customer.
Collaborate with sales, operations, quality and engineering teams to brain-storm and resolve process capability questions that arise and elevate challenges with the leadership team to resolve and determine next steps.
Conduct research to obtain current data regarding labor and material costs, along with production rates/times.
Collaborate with other departments to maintain a smooth workflow – and make adjustments/recommendations as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have experience working within a team-based environment – exhibit good communication skills and supportive of Continuous Improvement culture and Quality initiatives.
Proficient knowledge of fabrication processes, reading blueprints/tolerances & solid math skills.
Keen-eye and high attention to detail – along with solid decision-making skills & ability to exercise good judgement.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Prioritize and plan work activities efficiently to meet deadlines, work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Ability to deal with change, shifting priorities, delays, or unexpected events.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and other Microsoft Office programs along with other software such as; ERP systems, SolidWorks, and Adobe.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
May require occasional overtime, weekend and/or evening work.
Must be able to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other business equipment.
May occasionally require planning or scheduling meetings, presentations, or travel arrangements.
