CORE CONSTRUCTION & DEVELOPMENT INC is Hiring an Utilities Superintendent Near Nogales, AZ

Core Construction and Development Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent. Core specializes in medium/large commercial projects in multiple states, to include sitework, utilities, concrete, and asphalt. Core maintains a relentless push for production while maintaining an excellent level of quality control.

Skills & Experience Requirements:

Construction superintendent must be able to travel, should be flexible, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize work based on the needs of the project and customer, able to deliver professional work on behalf of Core Construction and Development Inc. and consistently meet deadlines. Must possess excellent listening skills and strong communication skills, ability to identify, analyze and resolve complex issues, ability to create and support team morale and effectively participate in a team environment. Proficiency with industry standard software and technology, a strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude, with a curiosity for how and why things work.

The Superintendent is responsible for all field related activity such as jobsite safety, cost, quality, and schedule on one or more projects, depending on scope and scale of the work. Works closely with management staff regarding all aspects of the project. Will communicate regularly with the General Superintendent, requesting support and taking direction as necessary to ensure successful project delivery. Maintains relationships with Clients, Architects, Consultants and Subcontractors. Must understand and promote the company's vision, mission and core values.

You will enjoy a variety of work assignments; no two days are alike. You will have to work outside as well as complete administrative tasks while in the field. You will experience a sense of accomplishment and provide value to the client/customer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists business development and marketing efforts as requested to procure work
  • Mentors and assists project staff
  • Assists the preconstruction efforts by conducting constructability reviews, preliminary schedule feedback, suggestions for value analysis
  • Assist management staff in developing bid scopes, conducting bid and scope analysis, and making recommendations for contract award
  • Champion and support Safety, Quality and Production Goals- ensure compliance with all OSHA jobsite requirements
  • Create, implement, and monitor the site logistics and management plan
  • Assist the management staff when necessary in reviewing shop drawings and submittals  Exercise primary responsibility for Jobsite quality control
  • Accurately document the daily progress of the Project with a daily work log and progress photos
  • Conduct and keep a record of weekly progress meetings with the trades
  • Maintain complete and organized records at the site
  • Ensure timesheets and materials are job coded and cost coded properly
  • Identify and document ambiguous design information between detailed/fabrication drawings and material product data and the construction documents.
  • Ensure material procurement and delivery in a timely manner
  • Review job costs regularly with management staff
  • Maintain tool inventory and report status as required
  • Ensure the punch list is created, distributed and completed in a timely manner
  • Understand and utilize the Company Policy and Procedures Manual and Best Practices Guidelines
  • Participate in ongoing training efforts
  • Conduct evaluations for all assigned employees  Ensure client needs are exceeded throughout the course of delivery
  • Perform accurate take-offs
  • Maintain digital As-Built Set of Drawings

Key competencies and skills:

  • 2 years of successful construction project management experience preferred
  • 2 years of supervisory experience in site construction trade required
  • Professional, dependable and ethical
  • HIGHLY MOTIVATED and GOAL ORIENTED individual
  • Results-focused; able to effectively delegate and follow-up
  • Organizational and planning skills; able to effectively allocate and develop resources
  • Leadership, coaching and communication skills (verbal and written); Builds rapport/negotiates skillfully
  • Technical skills: Proficient in Word, Outlook, Excel, Procore, and various systems
  • Excellent attention to detail with emphasis placed on quality.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints
  • Microsoft Office
  • Experience/understanding of mechanical and electrical processes preferred.
  • Experience with Topcon GPS preferred
  • Willingness and ability to travel is REQUIRED

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30,799.01 - $106,364.04 per year
