Total Rewards Specialist

Summary

The Total Rewards Specialist will be an integral part of the Human Resources team. This position is focused on the development, implementation and administration of the organizations benefit, performance, and compensation plans to attract, retain, and engage employees.

Role Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary contact for team member, benefits plan vendors, and benefits broker.
  • Be the subject matter expert for benefit questions. Provide exceptional, timely, customer service and accurate resolutions to questions or concerns including but not limited to: responding to benefit questions, resolving problems related to access or payment of benefits, and processing benefit related paperwork
  • Oversee Leaves of Absence administration: STD/LTD, FMLA, Personal Leaves, Military, & Worker’s Compensation.
  • Fulfill all reporting requirements of all relevant government/state rules and regulations, including the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), 5500 filings, IRS and DOL filings ACA/CMS reporting and year-end compliance.
  • Oversees the benefit enrollment process, including employee meetings. Updates benefit communication and documents as necessary.
  • Supports team in processing enrollments, changes and terminations for employees specific to plan options, including on-line enrollments for applicable plans, employee life cycle changes for additions, Leave of Absence, COBRA, etc.
  • Manage problem investigation, issue resolution, and follow-ups for benefit related questions.
  • Enhance company communication tools (Zendesk/SharePoint) in relation to understanding of the company's benefits package.
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations (i.e. ACA etc.).
  • Complete employee benefits surveys and review and report on information obtained from the results.
  • Prepares and analyzes reports related to employee benefits and compensation, including monthly reporting for HR Metrics. Reviews data and presents in an effective way to tell the story.
  • Manage the Company-wide wellness program.
  • Works with Human Resources & leaders within org to define and execute total rewards philosophy.
  • Administer the analysis and implementation of compensation programs including merit, range progressions, equity, and bonuses.
  • Analyzing, developing and recommendation of salary ranges for jobs using market data. Includes survey participation and data analysis.
  • Lead specialized compensation and benefit projects by conducting research, developing spreadsheet analyses, providing recommendations, and preparing reports/presentations.
  • Proactively lead activities around performance planning and evaluation advice, including performance management mediation.
  • Design and lead progressive initiatives around capacity building in a domestic workforce, incl. design, planning and facilitation of thematic training/workshops.
  • Develop communication materials and design campaigns around Performance Management
  • Proactively shape the organization’s approach to career development.
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure career development tools/practices are aligned with organizational needs.
  • Support the development of progressive and state-of-the-art career development tools and practices.
  • Provide sound advice to senior leadership and other relevant stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Managers and HR to ensure detailed job descriptions and classification/grading exists for all positions.
  • Participates in HR team meetings and continuing education, and recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvement in efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Be a key resource in understanding our overall HRIS system to increase efficiencies, the team member experience, and reporting

Role Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, human resources, finance, or related field
    • In lieu of degree, 5 years of benefit and compensation management experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR Generalist experience and progressively responsible experience in designing benefit programs and compensation plans
  • Experience with oversite of various benefit programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge and experience administering State and Federal Family Medical Leave Act
  • Advanced knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems
  • Have a solid understanding of State and Federal guidelines as it relates to benefit and employment law
  • Ability to handle questions and resolve issues in a timely and constructive manner.
  • Self-starter with positive team-focused personality.
  • Excellent organization, time management and communication (written/verbal) skill.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, inquiry management, investigatory and issue resolution skill.
  • Proactive and solution focused with an ability to deal effectively with difficult interaction.
  • Moderate to advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and HRIS systems and reporting required.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in stressful situation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff at all levels to achieve defined goal.
  • Always maintains the highest level of confidentiality for all matters.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP highly preferred
