Core Athletics is an elite-level tumbling, stunting, and performance company specialized in the sport of cheerleading. We work on-site with high school and middle school cheerleading teams across the state of Michigan. Job Duties and Responsibilities
As a Core Athletics Instructor, you will act as a spotting expert and provide athletes with master-level coaching. Skills you will spot range from beginner skills (back-walkovers) to intermediate skills (standing back-tucks). You are expected to facilitate drills and exercises in a rotational format that keeps athletes having fun and engaged at every class. You are expected to facilitate in a positive and inspirational, leader-like manner. As an instructor, you will coach classes in “crews” with one or two other instructors, including a Head Instructor (H.I. or crew leader).
For this role, any background in cheerleading or gymnastics is required. To ensure the safety of our athletes and instructors, a background check is required to work in this environment (with high school and middle school student-athletes). New instructors will go through an application and onboarding process to learn our class structure, coaching expectations, and employee policies and procedures. Each new instructor will be evaluated before being expected to coach a class without assistance.
A Day In The Life:
You will be assigned to specific schools located in your home region. You will be expected to drive yourself to and from each class (or have reliable means of transportation). During classes, you will be required to follow instructions from your H.I. and expedite the seasonal class structure. You are expected to spot athletes on their skills and provide exceptional coaching. You may be assigned to up to three locations in a single day.
