SUMMARY

This position will provide IT support for computerized lab equipment, under the direction of the IT Laboratory Systems Analyst and the IT System Administrator. This includes operations for lab communications, instruments, network traffic affecting lab systems, data centers, lab applications, application support, helpdesk, and server and storage management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Interact with IT Team Members and Lab Analysts to achieve lab project goals
  • Support technical assistance and support efforts for incoming queries and issues related to lab related computer systems, networks, telecommunications, software, and hardware
  • Administer the IT components of various lab systems, instruments, and services, both GMP and non-GMP
  • Oversee inquiries from lab staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors etc., to provide technical assistance and support
  • Cross-train team members
  • Support collection and distribution of daily performance metrics of lab related computer systems
  • Support diagnostic efforts to resolve problems
  • Gain feedback from customers about lab specific network/computer usage
  • Support configuration and validation of secure systems and physical controls, responsive service management to local/global lab systems, and general maintenance of site lab infrastructure to detect security, process, and/or data integrity weakness.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in a computer related field, and/or experience with TechLab programming, computer science, engineering, network security, and infrastructure. One year of experience developing IT technical skills/experience including understanding lab specific GxP needs, services, and instruments. Experience in regulated IT environments (GAMP, NIST, ISO). Experience with LIMS and other lab systems; including, but not limited to, Open Lab, LabVantage, and MasterControl systems.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and understand common information technology technical literature. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with peers, customers, and management.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply problem solving and best judgement to assigned tasks.
