Corcept Therapeutics is Hiring a Payroll Manager Near Menlo, CA

The Payroll Manager will have a hands-on, active role in processing US and UK payroll, as well as all associated activities. Additionally, the Payroll Manager will partner with Accounting, Finance, and HR on various employee and accounting related duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process semi-monthly payroll via ADP for employees based in California and other states
  • Process monthly payroll in ADP-UK iHCM platform for ten (10) UK employees
  • Routinely track payroll data schedules related to various deductions and earnings
  • Work closely with the Stock Administrator for proper option exercise and RSU tax calculation entry in ADP. Update ESPP election adjustments, refunds, and quarterly buy period tracking.
  • Maintain accurate records of payroll reports/transactions and supporting schedules in accordance with established processes and SOX requirements
  • Prepare periodic payroll reports for review by management and auditors
  • Process in-office manual checks as needed for final or severance pay
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from various stakeholders
  • Process new state registration
  • Learn and understand UK payroll processing in iHCM platform including pension, National Insurance, and tax. Assist with annual P11D expense research and filing.
  • Month-end close responsibilities: complete journal entries and upload to NetSuite, cash and payroll G/L account reconciliation, and NetSuite report analysis
  • Manage month-end ADP reporting process to generate accurate benefits distribution

Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Technical Proficiencies:

  • Working accounting knowledge of journal entries and reconciliation
  • Critical thinking/understanding concepts of payroll and accounting

  • Ability to work independently and maintain full job ownership
  • Effectively collaborate with Payroll, Finance, and Human Resources

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • BA or BS degree
  • 8 years processing payroll, with current ADP experience
  • Intermediate knowledge in MS Excel
  • NetSuite experience a plus
  • Experience with RSU, ESPP and Stock Options

The pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position is $113,500 - $160,000; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on legitimate considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. An annual cash bonus and equity grants may be provided as part of the overall compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other wellness benefits, dependent on the position offered.
