Position Summary Reporting to the Brand Director, Big Whiskies, the Senior Brand Manager, Big Whiskies (Jameson & J.P. Wiser’s Delivery) will lead the overall strategy and team to promote sustainable value growth on our portfolio. He/She will demonstrate thought leadership by identifying opportunities to improve brand profit, impact and equity. This role requires a thorough understanding of consumer and market insights, commercial and financial acumen, collaboration cross functionally and with agency partners, project management and excellence in execution. A passion for brand execution, innovation, marketing strategy and business development is critical to success in this role. Key Responsibilities Brand Planning Develop annual Domestic Brand Plans, Long Range Plans and Brand Reviews with key inputs from Global Brand Owner’s Portfolio architecture, consumer insights, analysis of category/competitive and brand performance. Analysis/Performance tracking, including: Working closely with analysts to provide detailed analysis of brand performance and competitor activity (pricing, distribution, promotional program performance, category reviews) and provide input on monthly reports regarding brand activity, competitive activity and pricing and distribution. Work with finance team to develop each Brand’s P&L during Brand Planning, identifying key levers to optimize profitability. Monitor monthly P&L progress and propose recommendations throughout the year. Present plans to Corby Senior Management, Brand Owners, Corby Sales teams and key customers. Help manage the Brand Owner relationships by being their key point of contact for Corby Marketing. Brand Execution Lead the development of integrated Marketing programs for J.P Wiser’s & Jameson including various Marketing levers (Retail, Ecommerce, DTC, On premise, Media, PR, Sponsorships etc.). Ensure best in class execution that generates cut-through versus key competitor brands. Measure, assess and provide proposed optimizations to Design team. Work with Brand Manager, JP Wiser’s Delivery & Brand Manager, Jameson to create effective media and below-the-line campaigns to suit the Canadian market; adapting relevant Global assets as needed for Global Brand Owners. Rally the entire organization behind 2 key Brand, develop robust roll out plans for comms, innovation and packaging. Oversee pricing strategy implementation on key brands across the Provinces. Product/Marketing Innovation Identify key Domestic needs and communicate to Brand Owner to develop compelling concepts supported by clear business case. Build and manage innovation pipeline with Brand Owner, Production and New-to-Market teams and ensure it is aligned to strategy. Develop J.P. Wiser’s special release pipeline, collaborating with Design, regional and production teams to ensure strong concepts and align with liquor board launch dates. Ensure rigor on feasibility of new products and have the ability to scale up and commercialize new products. Identify key asset requirements for launch and develop strong launch plan. Post launch evaluation against set KPIs. Budget Management Oversee brand A&P budgets with team; working with Brand Managers to set yearly budget, working with regions to allocate funds between Sales & Marketing & ensuring spend is on track versus annual budget targets. Where necessary, make recommendations to the Brand Director. Evaluation of marketing activities: Ensure all major brand initiatives (>$50,000) are formally evaluated, with summary conclusions and recommendations. Share the results of evaluation internally with key stakeholders and agree next steps. Managing and Coaching Direct Report(s) Set objectives and goal setting for the team (2 Brand Managers & 1 Assistant Brand Manager). Provide motivating direction and guidance for direct reports, supporting development and decision making. Provide ongoing coaching to develop an independent and motivated team.
