Applicant should hold a valid Oregon K-12 teaching license with a special education endorsement, ASD Certificate/ADOS preferred.
Provides the instructional program for all high school students with special needs grades 8-12 in a life skills self contained classroom setting and also supports students served partially in the general education classroom. Instructional services are designed for students who experience a wide range of mental, physical and emotional disabilities. Consultation and instructional collaboration with general education teachers at the high school level are ongoing. Provides oversight and scheduling of special education assistants. Creates IEPs, facilitates IEP/placement meetings, and implements IEPs, including Positive Behavior Support Plans when applicable. Makes data based instructional decisions through data collection and coordination with general education teachers and other service providers.Supports student success in academics, interpersonal skills, and activities. Implements augmentative communication support when needed.
