Requirements:

3-5 years’ human resources management skills

Education:

Bachelor’s degree preferred in human resources, business administration, or related field. Equivalent education and experience considered. 

Travel: 

Approximately 0-15% 

Position Overview:The Human Resources Generalist is primarily responsible for assisting the Human Resources Manager to run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. This is not a remote role. 

Key Competencies:

  • 3-5 years of experience in human resources management. 
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and regulations.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • May assist with overseeing the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of junior staff in the department. 
  • Meticulous attention to detail and demonstrated ability to proactively develop systems and processes to ensure seamless execution and management of assigned tasks and HR projects.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and streamline processes.
  • Experience with MS Office and HRIS; ADP a plus.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent work ethic, enthusiasm, and positive energy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to onboarding, payroll, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and standard operating procedures to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains the company’s HRIS, to include processing electronic onboarding and terminations; employee files and records in electronic and paper form.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Acquires background checks and employment eligibility verifications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Other:

  • Provides additional support to the VP of Finance/Accounting and HR Manager as requested.

  • Attendance requirements: This position is not eligible for part-time employment. This is an exempt position.
