Job Summary: To provide a safe and clean environment for members, participants, employees, and visitors to Copper City Community Connection and ensure a smooth and continued operation of the facility. Ensure facility is prepared for events and activities as assigned. Help Maintenance supervisor with projects as assigned.

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor

Functions and duties:

Custodial Responsibilities:

• Cleaning floors inclusive of wood, linoleum, tile, and carpets
• Emptying trash cans throughout facility
• Dusting disinfecting all surfaces
• Notify supervisor to replenish cleaning supplies as needed to ensure organization has an adequate supply
• Washing windows inside and out
• Using cleaning equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• Collecting and taking out trash and recycling. Make arrangements with collection vendors

Help in Maintenance Responsibilities

• Ensure that company premises and facilities are kept in clean and hygienic condition
• Notify supervisor of abnormal leaks, sounds from HVAC, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical systems
• Basic knowledge of toilet and sink repair
• Checking and responding to security and safety issues
• Testing and recommending new maintenance products
• Keeping an inventory of cleaning and repair supplies

Other tasks

- Based on the Events at the Center there may be occasional work at night or on weekends

- Maintenance-Custodian may work varying shifts based on needs of the organization

Position Skills and Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED

· NYS Driver License

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

• Ability to lift and move over 50 pounds
• Knowledge of different cleaning products and tools
• Time-management and multitasking abilities
• Physical strength and stamina
• Organization skills
• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Administrative skills for ordering supplies, handling records and scheduling maintenance
• Stamina to deal with long hours standing or walking
• Strong verbal and written communication for discussing maintenance issues

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $14.20 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday

• Rome, NY 13440: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
