Coplin Health Systems is Hiring a Patient Representative Near Parkersburg, WV

SUMMARY

Provides front office clerical services as a receptionist and records clerk by providing the following services.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Listed below is an outline of the ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS of your position. As the Patient Representative you are delegated the authority, responsibility, and accountability to carry out your assigned duties.

Every effort has been made to ensure that the essential functions of this position are clearly outlined – however, it should be emphasized that the position may require performing other related duties as long as those duties are compatible with the abilities of the individual assigned to this position in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

1. Maintain current information in computer and in chart on each patient seen.

2. Check patients out, collect patient’s fees, enter encounter, and make return appointment per protocols established.

3. Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPPA policy.

4. Complete work and school absence slips as needed per policy.

5. Maintain accurate money exchanges at all times.

6. Record messages in accurate manner on appropriate forms and forward to recipient in a timely manner.

7. Interact with patients, vendors, and business representatives one on one and via telephone in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

8. Write up deposit and deliver to designee daily.

9. Utilize telephone systems/features for effective operations.

10. Call patients to remind them of their appointments per policy.

11. Scan all reports and results in patient charts per protocol established.

16. Xerox Copier

17. Keep office area neat and organized.

18. Maintain organization of office supply cabinets.

19. Prepare outgoing mail.

20. Conduct self in professional manner and manage conflict quickly and in a direct and respectful manner.

21. Maintain good working relationship with co-workers.

22. Employee will adhere to all parts of CHS compliance program’s mandates, timelines, and activities.

23. Use Greenway PM and EHR and maintain knowledge of any changes or upgrades with the lessons on the support site

24. Enter charges and diagnosis into Greenway PM daily.

25. Post patient payments into Greenway PM daily

Employee may be required to perform other duties as assigned or when necessary. If such work becomes a permanent and regular part of the job, a revised job description will be presented.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has No supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three year’s related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of and experience working with computers a must.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS

Good verbal communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal directions. Maintain effective working relationships with CHS staff.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficient in basic computer programs, electronic health records and practice management programs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Conditions of Employment:

1. Security and Background Requirements: If not previously completed, a background security investigation will be required for all applicants.

2. Department of Homeland Security: If you are selected for this position, the documentation that you present for purposes of completing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Form I-9 will be verified through the DHS.

3. Direct Deposit: All employees are required to have bi-weekly payments made by direct deposit to a financial institution of their choosing.

4. All qualification requirements must be met.

5. 90-day probationary period will be required.

6. Drug Screening is required.

7. Recruitment incentives may be authorized.

8. Travel, transportation expenses may be authorized.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
