The Shipping and Receiving supervisor, under the direction of the Shipping & Warehouse Manager, leads a team of forklift operators and supervises all activities for receiving, warehousing, shipping, and distribution services including providing materials, equipment, and supplies to production and physical maintenance and handling all warehousing areas of the plant during a specified shift. This position will direct, manage, and coordinate logistics and customer service activities internally and externally. In addition, the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor will assist and maintain inventory controls as well as manage, train, and develop the warehouse team.
Essential responsibilities & duties
Execute plans, in conjunction with the Warehouse Manager, in the shipping and receiving function. Supervise the order picking and shipping of finished goods to customers. Supervise the inbound receiving of raw materials into inventory. Supervise the inbound and outbound transfer of ingredients and supplies to/from off-site locations. Ensure strict compliance with FIFO standards for raw ingredient and finished goods inventories.
Comply with company policies and requirements in the areas of shipping, receiving, and warehousing in addition to meeting audit regulations.
Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse by leading damage prevention programs and improving warehousing efficiencies.
Communicate professionally, both orally and in writing, with other employees (e.g., briefing the Warehouse & Logistics Manager and other members of the team as needed, providing direction, resolving conflicts, and/or writing/delivering counseling records).
Ensure employees are maintaining clean and sanitary work areas at all times.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.
Able and willing to work overtime when required.
