Job Title Engineering Manager (Orthopedic) At CoorsTek Bioceramics, we manufacture life-changing implantable ceramic components used in hip replacements, cancer treatment therapies, and more. As the Bioceramics Engineering Manager, you manage Engineering and Maintenance personnel and will be responsible for managing and coordinating engineering activities related to the development and maintenance of equipment, products, processes and materials. You will be recognized as a technical expert across multiple markets and technical fields. Will collaborate with Quality, Commercial, Operations, EHS, and R&D to strategically support equipment, products, processes, materials, and the associated technical requirements. Roles & Responsibilities: Manage and contribute to the design, improvement, and maintenance of equipment, materials, products, and processes. Manage customer projects, relationships, and the associated communication. Management of budgets and department goals. Manage departmental communication process. Become fluent in CoorsTek Intellectual Property issues and requirements. Recognize and define new Intellectual Property and recommends appropriate strategy and safeguarding. Strategically work with other facilities to understand and implement best known methods. Provide positive business impact to CoorsTek by introducing new ideas and solutions to further company’s profitability through expansion of the company’s material portfolio. Mentor early and mid-career engineers through one-on-one interactions lectures, seminars and classes. Recommend projects that support the business plan, develops project plans and ensures completion on time. Directs and coordinates the implementation of approved Stage Gate plans. Interviews and makes hiring decisions on appropriate candidate to fill vacancies. Prepares and administers on-time delivery of employee performance reviews by effectively communicating work performance standards and setting realistic goals. Responsible for ensuring all departmental employees are working and conducting themselves within all established rules, guidelines and legal requirements and takes immediate action to address/correct all behaviors not in compliance. Job Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, with strong preference towards industrial/manufacturing, mechanical, or ceramic materials engineering. Experience: Minimum of 15 years in progressive engineering experience, working across multiple disciplines (materials, mechanical, manufacturing, etc.). Must have experience in leading multiple complex project teams. Preferred background in medical device manufacturing and/or technical ceramics. Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Experience with implementing Factory Automation. Experience developing and managing CNC machine maintenance protocols. Process Engineering and Lean manufacturing background. Thorough understanding of materials and characteristics including material formulations. Advanced math skills and proficiency in job-related software including automation software. Experience with Process Validation, Project Management, Root Cause Analysis, Customer Qualifications, Risk Analysis, Statistical Process Control, Measurement System Analysis, Electronic Records, CAD/CAM systems, and MRP/ERP systems. Ability to perform detail-oriented tasks utilizing excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds Domestic and International travel required as needed. Target Hiring Range Annual Salary: $98,980.00 - $136,097.00 Actual compensation is commensurate with experience, skills and education.
