Overview
The Technical Architect is responsible for the design and build of solutions that meet system requirements and align to organizational initiatives. Sets technology direction and provides oversight for technical decisions within assigned areas of focus.
Responsibilities
• Plan, design, build, test, and implement IT systems and technology within assigned domain.• Conduct technology or product exploration, prototypes, and pilots that are aligned with overall IT direction to deliver innovative IT solutions.• Evaluate and select technology and that best fit business and project needs.• Develop technology and product standards and define overall platform structures.• Coordinate and explore ways to scale, automate, and increase functionality of services.• Work across multi-disciplined teams and subject matter experts to ensure a well-integrated set of solutions adhere to enterprise standards.• Create and manage technology strategies, roadmaps, and architectural artifacts.
• Conduct analysis of industry best practices, emerging technology, and market offerings to proactively advance capabilities.• Identify, communicate, and mitigate potential technical risks per strategy or project.• Serve as a technical escalation point within the team.• Serve as a direct contact point for customers and and suppliers for input on direction.• Provide decision making, leadership, and coaching or mentoring to the extended team.• Demonstrate expert level of communication skills and leading in a highly collaborative and independent environment.• Represent service offerings to stakeholders with a strong customer service orientation.
Qualifications
Minimum Work Experience/Education
• Advanced technical university degree(s) or equivalent experience.• Minimum 5 years of prior relevant work experience.• Expert level industry technical certifications.
• Possess an expert level knowledge of multiple subject matters. • Performs work with a high degree of latitude across teams. • Handles the most complex issues and escalations from other teams.• Demonstrated experience in Project Management and strategic planning leadership.
Physical Requirements/Work Enviroment
• Works under general office environment conditions• Sitting for extended periods, utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, equipment, etc. • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, subject to reasonable accommodation requirements under the ADA
• Requires occasional early morning or late evening teleconferences• International and domestic travel as required
