Cook Group is Hiring an Engineering Intern Near Vandergrift, PA

Overview

The 2023 Cook Inc. Internship position is a 12-week paid internship located in Vandergrift, PA. It is offered for a period extending from mid-May through mid-August (exact dates depend on school calendars.) This position includes 401(k) options, on-site cafeteria option, an assigned mentor, one-time housing stipend, capstone presentation, intern events, and more. All internships provide hands-on experience with meaningful projects in the Medical Device Manufacturing Industry.

Responsibilities

Focus:

Gain background on the typical responsibilities of a manufacturing engineer in a regulated industry:- Processing metric tracking and reporting- Process development, validation, and implementation- Risk Analysis- Manufacturing support

Objectives:

Introduction to and basic proficiency with the following Make External auditor scanned electronic versions records of :- Root cause analysis- Process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)- Production tooling and equipment (design / sustainability)- Understand the need for risk adverse decisions and preventative actions- Practical application of Lean Manufacturing principles- Investigate technical issues and subjective evidence to support conclusions

Job Functions:

- Tooling and Fixture design (drafting, qualification, implementation)- Conduct validation testing and complete test report documentation- Participate in Engineering meetings to troubleshoot and improve manufacturing processes- Participate in activities related to equipment selection and repair- Drafting/Proofing manufacturing instructions- Coordinate and execute time studies and other CI activities

Potential Projects:- Assisting with continued CFL implementation. Process flow, metrics, equipment response plans- Doppler Manufacturing Transformation- Initial investigation of next gen Liberator processing- Risk analysis activities- Cleaning process remediation

Qualifications

- All candidates should have an interest inEngineering or Engineering Technology degree from ABET accredited organization- Candidates should be students entering their Junior or Senior years the following Fall Semester. Graduate students are also eligible - A minimum GPA of 3.0- All candidates must provide proof of enrollment (including pre-registration certification for the following fall) for consideration- Familiarity with MS Office Suite- Able to work onsite for up to 40hrs per week- Able to function in a team environment and clearly communicate with team members
