Position SummaryConstructors Inc. is looking for a highly motivated Equipment Operator to operate heavy highway equipment for the maintenance and creation of roads and related infrastructure. This position involves customer service with local inspectors and semi-skilled and manual labor. 

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAbide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.

Operates equipment in the construction of heavy highway projects.

Operates various pieces of equipment including, but not limited to; loader, backhoe, blade, dozer, and excavator.

Follows direction of Foreman on daily tasks and expectations for each specific job site or project.

Performs routine maintenance on assigned equipment such as lubrication, fueling, and cleaning.

Assures safe operation of equipment.

Position Requirements & Education

  • High school education preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Must have 2 years of experience with heavy equipment with some manual labor.
  • CDL preferred but not required.

Working ConditionsWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use feet, hands and fingers, to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms to operate equipment.

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 to 60 pounds. 

Must be able to sit in the equipment for extended periods of time and be subject to the bouncing of the seat in the equipment. 

Occasionally will use a shovel to move material. 

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 

The employee is required to work up to a 12-hour shift, and during busy season the position may be required to work 5 to 6 days a week.

This is a tobacco free campus and facility.
