In today’s rapidly evolving construction industry, Estimators play crucial roles in helping ensure the financial success of their companies and assisting project Owners through a positive building experience.
At Consolidated Construction, our Estimators work collaboratively with our Project Managers and Pre-Construction Directors to thoroughly understand design requirements, project parameters and customer expectations, so comprehensive, accurate, and winning cost estimates can be developed and presented to the Owner.
It starts by gathering proposals, blueprints, and specifications to identify the labor, materials, and time requirements, then computing the costs of each element of the project. A good Estimator views each job from a global perspective, factoring in every aspect that will add to total overall cost of the project.
They are in tune with market factors, and understand labor, materials, supply chain challenges, and other cost drivers at the most fundamental levels. And they know how to facilitate value engineering efforts through the creative use of alternative means and materials to hit the Owner’s goals in terms of both project costs and timelines.
Just as important, they are savvy in developing relationships with subcontractors and prospective vendor-partners, so as to encourage them to bid on our projects.
