JOB PURPOSE & OPPORTUNITY

The Talent Manager will work closely with the Senior Manager of Talent and Culture (SMTC) and the Partner of Internal Operations to support and reinforce People Operations programs and processes across the entire Talent Management cycle. A critical role within the People Ops department, the Talent Manager supports the delivery of operationally excellent People practices that strengthen and empower employees of all levels to achieve goals in a positive, engaging and inclusive work environment. The role provides deep learning opportunities through heavy hands-on experience across four key areas of responsibility and carved out space and time for project ownership and strategic ideation within the Operations department. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Employee experience programming: 
    • Support SMTC in the ongoing execution of employee experience programming across all global offices, including performance management, learning and development (CP EDU), company events and CP Philanthropy
    • Alongside SMTC and DEI committee, help embed DEI practices into all processes and parts of employee experience programming to drive an equitable and inclusive culture 
    • Actively contribute to internal brainstorms and planning sessions for new and existing employee experience programs
    • Work with the CP Marketing team to manage and maintain the company’s employer pages (Glassdoor, ZipRecruiter, Indeed, LinkedIn) to ensure accurate representation of company culture and employee experience programming
  •  Internship program:
    • Partner with intern supervisors to run semester-long programs; supporting recruitment and leading intern onboarding
    • Establish and maintain relationships with college and university career centers; promote the CP intern and employee experience while deepening the intern talent pool across diverse 
  •  Talent acquisition: 
    • Support the Partner of Internal Operations in the training and reinforcement of the recruitment process with hiring managers, ensuring the embedding of DEI practices
    • Review applicants for all open positions providing hiring managers with shortlisted candidates (Applicant Tracking System: UKG Ready)
    • Aid in the candidate communication and scheduling
    • Work with the CP Marketing team to ensure consistent presence of recruiting-focused content on social media platforms
  •  New employee integration:
    • Provide guidance to hiring managers and new employees throughout the onboarding process to ensure a positive new hire experience and smooth company integration
    • Manage all administrative aspects of the employee onboarding process within HRMS
    • Lead parts of company-wide onboarding program including office tours, the “Welcome Wagon” buddy program and select employee experience programming

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1 - 2 years of HR and/or Operations experience
  • Team-oriented attitude
  • Sense of curiosity about the ever-evolving world of HR and Talent Management
  • Possession of strong integrity, with a deep respect for employee and company confidentiality
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Active listener with a problem-solving attitude
  • Ability to take direction from others
  • Comfort and ability to communicate with your team and your managers
  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in Human Resources or Business
