Job Summary:

The human resources specialist is responsible for performing human resources-related duties on a professional level and works closely with management in supporting their employees in various HR functions in some or all of the following functional areas: onboarding, policy interpretation, affirmative action, employment equity programs, and employment law compliance, and data collection and analysis for HR Metrics 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities Include but are not Limited to:

  • Manages and runs the weekly payroll process 
  • Conducts new-hire orientation. 
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. 
  • Maintains employee files 
  • Partners with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, and other government regulations. 
  • Responds to employee issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints and addresses or elevates as appropriate. 
  • Plans and coordinates employee events and culture initiatives 
  • Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience 
  • 1-3 years HR related experience 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Attention to detail 
  • High level of excel and Microsoft office skills 
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Desire to work in a team environment 
  • Minimum Travel required
