Connection has a fantastic opportunity through our Technical Staffing division for a hybrid network engineer. This is a direct-hire opportunity for a top-notch end client in the healthcare industry. This position will be hybrid, sitting onsite 3 days a week and 2 days remote. This position is based in Baltimore, MD and will require regular local travel around the Greater Baltimore area.

Responsibilities

Summary of essential job functions:

• Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network devices – routers, switches, firewalls, etc
• Work cross-functionally on new-systems implementations
• Support Cisco-centric WAN, LAN and wireless infrastructure
• Troubleshooting network problems to determine root-cause
• Designing and creating new computers networks

Qualifications:

• Sound networking experience
• CAN (Campus Area Network) experience (must have)
• 5 years of experience with VLANS/Routing, switching (Cisco), and other Cisco networking products
• Understanding of wireless networking
• Strong understanding of firewalls, VPN’s and other security technologies
