Position Summary:

The Warehouse Operator will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day physical operations and appearance of Connecticut Foodshare’s Warehouse in accordance with Feeding America’s standards. This individual will report to Warehouse Management in Wallingford.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Picks and stages orders for distribution to branches and member agencies.
  • Stores product appropriately (dry, freezer and cooler) in a reasonably accessible manner.
  • Receives and unloads all incoming shipments and loads trucks for outgoing shipments.
  • Inspects all donations and reports any problems to Warehouse Manager.
  • Accurately counts and completes all associated paperwork.
  • Assists with quality control and inventory.
  • Identifies and escalates issues to senior team members in a timely manner.
  • Performs daily inspection of equipment.
  • Maintains a clean work environment free of hazards in compliance with OSHA, GMP and AIB standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Lifting up to 60 lbs. required for inventory storage.

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • 2 years progressively responsible experience in similar or related function.
  • Experience in general warehousing.
  •  Pallet jack/forklift certification.
