Description
Conexon is looking for an experienced Network Engineer to implement, maintain, and support our growing national data network connecting fiber to the home network infrastructure providing Internet and voice services to residential and business customers. You will be part of a network operations team that is responsible for designing and implementing scalable, maintainable, highly available networks that meet business objectives and SLAs. This position is in a fast-growing company, and you will be expected to provide input on selection and implementation of equipment, systems, and processes that enable us to deliver fiber broadband across an expanding national network. Requirements
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:
1. Configure and install various carrier grade network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, access equipment) from Juniper, Calix and others
2. Help design and activate new networks, including scalability, redundancy, and efficiency to give end users the best experience possible
3. Use change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
4. Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
5. Provide Level-3 support and troubleshooting technical issues
6. Work with equipment vendors for quick problem resolution
7. Monitor performance and ensure system reliability and availability
8. Monitor system utilization, trending, and provide capacity planning
9. Perform other duties as assigned to fulfill the objectives of this position
