Condux International, Inc. is the premier manufacturer of underground and overhead cable installation tools and equipment for the IT, telecom and electric power industries. Condux machines allow safe, quick and easy installation of fiber optic and power cables.

Condux manufactures a wide variety of equipment an installer needs to put fiber optic cable or power cable in the ground or up a pole. With everything from fiber optic blowers to diesel powered underground bull-wheel cable pullers. Condux International is privately owned and has been manufacturing cable installation tools and equipment for over 30 years, working directly with the electrical contracting, electrical utility, IT and telecom industries.

Current Hiring Bonus of $3,000

Position Purpose: To analyze design specifications, cut and shape metal, assemble parts and test completed products for use.

Position Summary: The Tool and Die Maker interprets design schematics, cut and shape dies and assembles the completed parts.

Essential Duties:

1. Reading and interpreting blue prints, design schematics and CAD drawings

2. Visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances

3. Designing jogs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of parts

4. Measuring and marking metal stock for machining

5. Setting up machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines

6. Cutting and shaping blocks to specified dimensions

7. Filling, grinding, and shimming metals to ensure a smooth finish

8. Fitting and assembling tools and die parts

9. Inspecting finished dies and tools for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities

10. Conducting test runs with completed tools and dies.

Maintain a Clean Work Environment

a. Minimize Clutter

b. Trip hazards are cleaned up

c. Ground is dry and free of scrap and metal particles

Keep Workstations/Tools Clean and Organized in a Lean 5S Program

a. Sort – Separating tools, parts and instructions

b. Set In Order – Organizing tools, parts and instructions neatly and identify for ease of use

c. Shine – Clean-up work area with chemical products and sweeping

d. Standardize – Regularly cleaning and maintenance

e. Sustain – Make this process habitual and a part of everyday

Maintain A Good Attendance Record

a. Following the schedule provided by the supervisor

b. Have good communication with supervisor regarding planned time off and unplanned time off

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements:

1. 2 year or more experience in mechanical engineering or a specific Tool and Die program

2. Industry experience is necessary

3. In-depth knowledge of machine tools and their uses

4. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design schematics

5. Extensive experience with metalworking tools including drills, milling machines, grinders and lathes

6. Ability to lift heavy objects and operate large machinery 

7. Experience with quality control analysis

8. Excellent attention to detail

9. Advanced troubleshooting skills

Physical Demands:

Must be able to remain in a standing position for most of the time

Must be able to work in a production environment 

Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively

Mental Demands:1. Ability to simultaneously address multiple complex priorities and problems

2. Ability to use measuring tools and calibration requirements

3. Ability to perform basic arithmetic

4. Ability to read and interpret blueprints

Working Conditions: 

1. Adheres to the time and attendance requirements as established by the department supervisor

.2. Conditions will vary from office to production environments 

3. Overtime as required and/or needed
