SUMMARY - Industrial Painter
Job functions include mixing paint, preparing the surface of the object to be painted, painting objects, and drying or baking paint on an object by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operate necessary tools, as listed on the job description, to aid painting activities. (Pot/Pressure and gravity-fed sprayer, mixer, solvent recycler, lift tables, air hoists, and various non-sparking hand tools.
Computes amount and weights of paint, lacquer, solvent or thinner from the standard formula and pours specified amounts into mixing machine.
Examines workpiece for scale, cracks, shade variances, or unpainted areas. Adjust settings for accurate paint delivery.
Inspects painted surfaces for paint coverage, flow of paint, and color of paint.
Measures thickness and viscosity of paint applied to objects.
Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
Follows company policies and adheres to safety regulations.
Completes assigned duties.
Maintain paint booth, mixing booth, filters, and paint guns according to Conductix, manufacturer, and OSHA requirements. Training to be provided.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of the product.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of shop and department.
Maintains time and production records.
Confers with supervisors to coordinate activities of the paint department.
Discusses errors in diagrams or production order with a supervisor or engineer to clarify paint problems
Responsible for checking airflow meter and maintenance requirements set forth in Respirator Program.
Responsible for checking the accuracy of engineering, sales, and manufacturing offices' input to ensure customer final product is correct and within quality acceptance guidelines.
Any changes or corrections must be communicated to appropriate departments so future product output is consistent with customer expectations.
Responsible for managing the expense budgets associated with painting and making recommendations to the supervisor.
Through actions and decision-making, proactively supports, promotes, and improves the quality system and policy throughout the organization.
Maintains and sustains 5S within the department.
Supports and upholds the quality and EHS policy.
Upholds the Core Values.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
