Position Summary The Staff Accountant is responsible for providing management with financialinformation by researching and analyzing accounts; preparing financialstatements, and performing the day to day activities of the Accountingdepartment. Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills. Worksclosely with Controller and other Accounting staff members. Qualifications: · Bachelor's degree in Accounting · Experience 3 – 5 years · Proficient in Microsoft Office software Essential Duties and Responsibilities Account reconciliations of the general ledger, including bank reconciliations Assists in the monthly closing process with accuracy and attention to detail. Assists in preparing monthly financial statements including journal entries Involvement in annual audit Assists in preparing annual financial budget. Assists in analyzing monthly budget variations to identify areas requiring attention and areas of possible improvement. Assists in preparation of annual 990 IRS tax return Communicates effectively with others. Works effectively within time constraints; able to establish and meet deadlines. Works with department heads by answering questions on financial data Keeps financial information confidential Commits to high ethical standards and complies with the Code of Conduct, state and federal regulations, accreditation standards and Concordia policies and procedures. Maintains confidentiality of resident and employee records and information. Has a duty to report compliance concerns, significant legal risk questions, fraud, abuse, suspected or actual misconduct to a supervisor/manager or to the Corporate Compliance Officer.
