As the Accounts Receivable Associate, you will support the Recorded Music Accounts Receivable team and will play an important role in day-to-day operations of the department. In this role, you will perform reconciliations and cash application of customer statements, maintain and distribute the daily cash reports, assist with month end close process and other general accounting tasks. It's a wonderful role for an early career individual looking to learn and grow into an accounting professional. Concord Recorded Music is comprised of six active labels across many musical genres: Fantasy Records, Fearless Records, Loma Vista Recordings, Rounder Records, Easy Eye Sound and Concord Jazz. The Recorded Music Accounting and Finance team supports our labels from a financial perspective and ultimately contributes to growing our artists careers

Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

• Process monthly distribution statements for assigned Customers, including but not limited to Universal entities, and various domestic and international customer accounts
• Prepare reconciliation summaries as related to distribution statements for assigned customers
• Process and apply incoming cash receipts on a daily basis
• Process incoming cash receipts; verify bank deposits for bank reconciliation and post to the general ledger
• Assist in researching, identifying, and reconciling unapplied cash payments
• Assist with month-end reconciliations
• Work closely with the Inventory Department to process special orders and/or requests; ensuring that stock is available for invoice processing
• Verify monthly import files, ensuring accurate balancing to customer statements
• Research A/R inquires

Qualifications

What you’ll need:

• 1 years of accounting and/or bookkeeping experience or some combination of internships
• Knowledge of accounting principles and general ledger functions
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem solving and attention to detail
• Ability to work on multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines

*This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days minimum on-site.
