Cherry Blossom PACE is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join an interdisciplinary team of professionals who provide care to participants in the comfort of their home and in the facility.

Our CNAs are:

• Passionate about providing excellent care.
• Skilled in communicating with participants, their families, and other staff members; able to establish a helping, trusting relationship with participants.
• Sensitive to the needs of older adults as evidenced by a caring approach, patience in providing care, and responsiveness to participant requests.
• Excited to work effectively and harmoniously as part of an interdisciplinary team, with the elderly, providers of services, and peers.

Responsibiltities:

• Assist participants with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, mouth care, eating, hand and foot nail care and toileting) as assigned or needed.
• Participate in participant’s care planning through cooperation with interdisciplinary teams.
• Rotate into Day Center services as a CNA and provide Day Center escort for participants in the community.
• Participate in Quality Improvement programs.
• Handle potentially infectious specimens with appropriate biohazard precautions, and practices universal precautions.
• Consistently cooperate and support the organization in problem solving issues.
• Maintain current written records, indicating ongoing documentation of services provided, reassessments of changing needs, and participant’s expressed wishes.
• Maintain confidentiality of participant information and prepare and submit timely written reports as required.
• Be flexible in schedule of hours worked, including nights/weekends.

Requirements

• Minimum of one (1) years of experience working with a frail or elderly population preferred.
• Experience in a long-term care facility or with a community-based geriatric program preferred.
• A GED or high school diploma.
• An active certified nurse assistant in the state of Virginia.
• The ability to obtain Food Service Handling certification within 30 days of hire (company paid training)
• Knowledge of the principles and techniques involved in relating to frail elderly persons.
• A personal vehicle.
• The ability to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally, 15 pounds frequently, and 7 pounds constantly; required to obtain assistance of another qualified employee when attempting to lift or transfer objects over 25 pounds.

Salary/ Wage Range $21.00/hour. Compensation for the role is commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the rate shown.
