Role Summary

CAI is looking for an Analytics Consultant within the Customer Success organization. This Analytics Consultant will support the Strategic Data Science team by building data pipelines that aid the implementation of CAI’s leading real-world data products and clinical cloud capabilities. You will be part of the team providing strategic guidance for our pharmaceutical and biotechnology partnership requests for real-world data (RWD) consultation, about RWD fueled platforms, and related to RWD analytic services to ensure that the right CAI experts are leveraged at the right time and that optimal value from CAI products are realized.

The successful candidate will have experience transforming complex data into semantic data models, creating infrastructure that enables rapid insight generation, effectively communicating both technical and conceptual metric definitions, and demonstrating the utility of data assets, such as RWD, to development programs and lifecycle management. The candidate will be expected to quickly develop a deep understanding of all CAI data products and technology platforms. This role reports to the Strategic Data Scientist for Product Success.

Responsibilities

  • Support the broader Customer Success: Strategic Data Sciences team in establishing and maintaining key partner stakeholder relationships at the largest pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies
  • Conduct product analytics, measure data quality metrics, and maintain thorough documentation
  • Scale existing business analytics logic into reusable data assets for downstream technology solutions
  • Deploy solutions for Customer Success to best answer client business requirements related to CAI data, technology, analytics, and outcomes studies
  • Be a technical liaison between Customer Success client-facing teams and CAI Data Operations, Cloud Operations, and Informatics teams to harmonize the data pipeline across the enterprise
  • Apply and evangelize software development processes to analytics workflows
  • Collaborate with business development and customer success to expand accounts and to meet internal business unit metrics
  • Assist CAI business units with coordinating delivery schedules and strategically enhance products for optimal integration into partner workflows

Requirements:

  • Bachelors and/or Masters, an equivalent degree, or an equivalent duration of professional experience in a quantitative field such as: computer science, AI/Machine Learning, data science, statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, epidemiology, or a related discipline
  • 3 years’ experience in life sciences or biotech in a Data Science/ Engineering/ Governance role
  • 2 years of experience applying SQL, Data Modeling, and Data Warehousing fundamentals, utilizing analytics/engineering tools such as: cloud-based platforms (e.g. Redshift, Snowflake), orchestration (e.g. Airflow, Prefect), transformation (e.g. dbt)
  • Strong SQL (preferably Redshift) and analytical programming skills (Python and R) following software development principles (e.g. version control, data unit testing, CI/CD)
  • Experience with ELT or analysis of transactional patient-level, RWD, or electronic health record (EHR) data models
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to ‘translate’ between the data and the business, via layman’s terminology of complex analytical methods
  • Excellent time management skills: prioritizing across competing timelines, contributing to multiple projects, and updating team members on deliverable expectations
  • Enjoy collaborative, on-the-job teaching/learning/skill sharing
  • Past success in high-growth, fast-paced start-up companies
  • Comfortable with ambiguity/flexibility
  • Good listener, strategic thinker, and a team player

Qualifications that would be a plus:

  • Professional experience using dbt (data build tool)
  • Supporting real-world data (RWD) client projects
  • SaaS experience and development of SaaS metrics
  • Agile development experience
  • Oncology experience
